My Ride: 2012 535i M-Sport
Default 2008 E60 M5 To Buy or Not To Buy?

Hey everyone, first timer here, how's everyone doing?

I have been driving a 2012 535i M-Sport for a few years and have recently had an urge to finally get a E60 M5, which I've had on my bucket list for some time.

I read a lot about the SMG Pumps and Vanos issues, also bearings...

Can anyone shed some light, or helpful guidance or experience when looking to buy a preowned E60 with 85k-100k miles... The one I am looking at isn't SMG but Manual transmission... or should I stick to SMG?

What should I look for specifically when asking for the service history before buying an E60? OR should I just not buy? I play online casino real money and win good price with help of these guys http://realmoney-casinos.org/ and want to buy a new car

Thanks in advance everyone!

Money pit. Dont buy. In that mileage range the rod bearings will need to be done immediately.

My 2006 M5 SMG has about 60k, and is well maintained. I have not changed my rod bearings, but its on my short list. If you buy at 85k+, I would look for a lot of maintenance records plus a good price. As for SMG, the bad rap comes from e46 SMG's which were garbage. The M5's are much better, and I love mine, plus they tend to cost less. Good luck.
