I saw an 06 m5 for sale and I'm thinking about trading in my 08 550 which is still under CPO and maintenance warranty which has a full sport pk 57k I got it at 44k last Feb, the m5 has 45k fully loaded without warranty one ower service only by the local dealership. My only issue is that the car does not have any warranty an ill have to come out of pocket .

I will tell you that I just came out of a FULLY MODDED Dinan 500i 6M Sport into a 2010 M% and as much as I love that 550i there is NOTHING like an M5. A THRILL each time you press that start button.

Aftermarket warranty is a must. Especially a earlier model builds. (06-07) Get a pre-purchase inspection done. These cars can be costly to fix. Believe me.

Luckily Motorcepts is close by. Get all my repairs/work done by Motorcepts.

Was it worth it? Hell yeah. If I had to do it all over again. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Can't afford new, can't afford used. Get warranty or you could be in for a world of hurt.

Like an $18,000 repair bill by BMW for an SMG Tranny replacement . . . parts/labor. I shit you not. I'll still look around for the invoice.

I had a choice between 550 and M5. After test drove both, I picked 550. Didn't like M5 sound. 550 feels more refined and luxurious. Power is sufficient too.

In all honesty, stick with the 550
