Currently having some dilemmas with purchasing an M5. I have been looking for some time for a black M5, for the right deal, the right price, the right options etc. etc. And would really love to just get into one ASAP ( even though the winter shitty months are coming and will put a damper on my fun). Other then the obvious newer year depreciation advantage, is there much difference between the 06 and 07' models M5? Any recommendations? looking to spend 60-70k canadian.... possibly more if its worth it for an 07'

For what's it's worth, I'd go for a 07' newest as possible. Since the next generation of M5 is still years away, it's not a bad 'investment'--- get the newest used car possible and have some fun with it!

But if the 07 is the exact same as the 06' what would be the advantage if the Miles were the same.. Is there a difference in models? I know the 08 has minor changes to the dash.. But ive seen that the 06 and 07 models are very similar and having a tough time justifiing the extra 15-20 large for a year newer.

True, it could be a Dec 06' and a Jan '07 -- just go with your gut instinct since it could be newer but thrashed thoroughly..... If I were to buy an M5, I'd have my tech go check it out.

I wouldn't worry 06 or 07, I would be more focused on the mileage, condition and colour/options that you want. When I got mine it was "in service" for 2 years but had only 13,500km on it. Mileage is more important than model year, and there is virtually no difference between the years unless you are getting an LCI.
