I think for your colour and stock bumpers the 124 are the best wheels, however also with spacers, and maybe a tick lower.
For the 172s you need the M kit, but honestly the colour of your car would not suit it IMO.
Otherwise thumbs up for sticking with OEM - I like it that way too.
There are great aftermarket wheels, but I see them as appropriate only on seriously modded cars. Stock car with aftermarket wheels looks cheap.

It's funny because when I mounted the 172's, my initial reaction was I don't like them. However, once I saw them in this thread pictured against the 124's I thought to myself, they look good possibly better than the 124's. Then everytime I go out to the car I am unsure again. What to do???

Maybe a more concave design like the 166's or an OEM looking, CSL style wheel like the 19" Alufelgen SF-71 would look better??? What do you think???
Thanks for the correction...

I too, am concerned the Mtech won't look right with my color. Maybe I should just stick with the 124's???

Therefore, what I personally would do is put back the 124s, put on some substantial spacers (10mm/20mm) and lower the car a bit. That would make it really sleek and elegant (and improve the suspension as a "side" effect).
But hey, that's just my taste and if you don't want to change your suspension, that's pointless anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the 172s, they are work of genius really, but I am of the opinion that everything on a car should fit together.
On the other choices - I love the 167s as well, but they are even sportier than the 172s. And their colour is not suitable for your paint.
CSL replicas in standard silver colour I think would be ok though, if you have decided to go the aftermarket route..
Just my 2 cents..
PS: I am in a similar dilemma now as I have Style 152 in 18" on my car and I wish they were bigger.. Luckily, BMW made the same Style 152 in 19" for the 6 series, so I am on the lookout for a set of them.

Btw, medik, do a search on the forum for "spacers 5mm/15mm" or similar and you will find a few really good pics of a member with 124s with spacers and lowered. That way you can get an idea what is achievable with the 124s

OR maybe its time for me to venture in the aftermarket world and add some deep lipped 20" and coilovers???
Oh sooo frustrated and don't know what to do???

my 5mm H&R spacers perform perfectly well, no problems whatsoever. something must have been wrong with your particular set.
however lookswise, now I would buy 10mm/20mm instead. But if I buy the 19'' wheels which are a bit wider, the 5/15mm will be perfect.
Re: 20 inch and coilovers - that's a completely different budget area and a different conversation alltogehter
Let's just say that it's mouthwatering what some members here have achieved lookswise with 20 inch and coilovers...

Thanks Brother!!!
Anyhow, I have decided that this is not the set for me. I have put them up on Ebay after just one day. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...CA:MOTORS:1123
Thanks to all for the comments.
