Hi,

I have a 2006 520d SE. The car has leather, bluetooth, ipod adaptor, is automatic, only thing i really want is xenons.

Is it just a matter of getting some xenon headlights with the ballasts and bulbs and fitting them or is there more to it?

I know on the e46 BMW, this mod required a headlight swtich aswell.

Any help appreciated.

It is possible, but it requires either buying whole new head light assemblies or buying an aftermarket HID kit. The only problem with the latter is, you'll have HID lights in a non-projector headlight assembly...and frankly, that looks honda civic to me...

If you go the OEM route, you will have to do some rewiring which isnt easy to explain.

There is nothing wrong with a non projector hid setup. The e39 originally did not have projectors and i loved the look over the newer ones. Guess i'm a fan of old school.

I would try to find a car with them from the factory, they are expensive to retrofit after the fact.

Thanks for the help people. Will this work? Im thinking, get the proper xenon headlights but use an aftermarker hid kit so no messing about with wires? Can anyone see a problem with that? Wont need to alter any wiring then will I?
