Default Xenon bulbs

I have 8 years old original xenon bulb still on. As I see they deteriorate by time and use. So I think mine needs to be replaced. There are some threads regarding this topic but still no clear answers at the end to me. I want someone to explain me in simple words what is the deference between 4800k and 6000k bulbs except color. I like the hint of blue but are 6000k better then 4800k when it comes to visibility quality? I want to get the best bulb possible and it seams that this is the one I need. Philips Xenon Pair D2S X Treme Vision 50 85122XV Audi BMW Mercedes Honda TOO | eBay. Are those direct replacement and no need of coding? Are there other alternative to those bulbs?
Thx

From my experience, the whiter the light the better the visibilty. When I have used bulbs with higher K number they look nicer because of the hue (blue to purple) they display, but they also put out less usible light. There is kind of a sweet spot range to be in where you get the best of both worlds. Sorry, I don't know right off which range that is though but I think its in that range of 5-6 K.

I only see those bulb in 4800 and 6000k So with 4800k I should get better light output than with 6000k. Do you know if those bulbs are direct replacement?.

From what I've read when trying to make a decision 4800k will give you more visibility. But when your talking about aesthetics 6000k all the way. I would never do 8000k, but 4800 I don't like hint of yellow, one of my low beams went bad and I never looked back at 4800 I hated it.. I think 6000k is the ideal brightness without sacrificing visibility. But hey I'm no expert, lol. Here is a pic of my 6000k low beams and then low beams and fogs sametime. Couldn't tell you what 4800 looks like but not much different.

Thanks guys. I'll go with 6000k than. But are those Philips D2S X-Treme Vision 85122xv worth the extra money as they are available in Europe only as see and not to many. Are they best Xenons on the market?

Check what type of bulbs your car currently has - D1S or D2S. Buy exact same ones and you can swap them out without having to do anything else.

I can't give you an answer on that but there bulbs man, can't much difference between them. I got my DS2's from motorcepts, they work fine forgot how much I paid but your right there give it a shot. I know I didn't pay $190 for em
