Came across this product while searching for ways to integrate my iPhone 4s to my 5er http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/ Would this be possible to install to the stock radio and would any programming be necessary?

I wish, but I don't think so. As far as I know (I have been looking also) the only options are the OEM BMW Ipod interface or the Dension Gateway 500.

Actually there's another one, for full integration into iDrive (I mean w/ no additional remote control and/or separate screen etc) it's called "mObridge" ... but I installed Dension GW500 over 3 years ago w/o even considering the other 2, Dension GW500 the only one give USB port and has no song limitation problem like the OEM (dunno about mObridge) and I've been very happy w/ Dension.

How much did you drop on the GW500? $500ish?

If you find your car listed under the "Compatibility" table (next to the overview tab) under the pic then you are good to go.

Why not install CIC and snap-in? Add Connected drive after that? Everything except e-mail. Even video.
