Going to put my car back to stock sport suspension. Somebody had sport suspension from an 06 530i for sale. Was wondering if it would fit my 2005 545i. Thanks for any info.

As you can see, realoem has different part numbers for the 545 and the 530:

545

530

Would it fit? Maybe, but the real question is: will it last? will it be safe?

KW and others make performance coilover systems, it doesn't surprise me they'd use the same part # for all E60 (excl M5). They make systems that are stiffer to begin with.

I figured that the aftermarket suspension would be stiffer to. So all the 5 series suspension would be the same. Gonna buy stock sport 545 suspension off a member here on saturday

Not everything is dependant on the struts --

The spring rates matter 2.

I might be wrong but here is what I think
The Spings for the 530i and the 545i\550i HAVE to be DIFFERENT because the difference in weight.

The reason the KW might have the same part# might be because it is adjustable- adjust the stiffness and the height - so it can be tailored to a wider range of weight pressure (Does that make sense ?)

What would happen if you install a 545i suspension on a 530i

lol
Its just going to be less effective as a suspension & less responsive (Stiffer, and non responsive to smaller potholes)

AND VICE VERSA
