Thinking about getting a set of winter wheels.

Looking @ the following specs:

225/55R16 Tires
16x7 Wheels

Are these the correct specs all around for a 535i w/Sport?

I just ordered mine today and they are Dunlap 225/50R-17 tires on 17x7.5 wheels.

Yup that will do it. Alternatively go for 17s with the 225-50 sizing. Will look a bit nicer than 16s which are tinnny

I suggest you get 18" setup and I can personally recommend M3 Dunlop snows.
16's.??... why?

Several reasons:

1 - Price. A set of 16" wheels are cheaper than replacing/rebalancing the tires already on my 18" setup, let alone buying a second set of 18# wheels.
2 - These aren't for looks, they are for practical use and German law requirements and will only be used for a few months each year.
3 - A narrower tire footprint gets you better traction in snow.
4 - Neccessity. Chances are I won't need them after this year

Good tires regardless of the size and AWD and you should be fine. People talk about Blizzaks also, but I ran the Dunlop sport M3 snows (they might be cheaper) for 3 seasons in the NEast US on my M3. They are on 4-5 months around here. The car was amazing in the snow.
