The diameter will close enough to standard sizes with that width and aspect ratio to avoid any related size issues. The 235 definitely will fit on the 8" front, but I'm not sure if it's wide enough for the 9" rear? Might check with Tire Rack.

That was my concern too. A cheap set surfaced, thought I'd ask.

Can I run e39 16 or 17s?

If you use hub rings. E39s have a 74.1mm bore, while e60s have a 72.56mm hub. Some early e60s in 2004 came with 16s, so brake clearance shouldn't be a problem. I'd try to keep the diameter close with aspect ratio/width adjustments.

You need spacer to run e39 wheel, 17" will probably be OK but I don't think 16" will... clearance issue.

I found a set of 16x7 20mm offset for an e39 with 225/55-16. Tirerack doesnt list a 16 as their lawyers wont permit. Anyone have any first hand experience with 16s on an e60?

All I know is that in 2004 (maybe later), some US e60s came with 16" wheels style 134 with a 20mm offset(link to overpriced example below). There was one in my parking lot at work a couple of years ago. I also have seen these wheels on e60s in Asia, Europe, and Latin America on what appear to be newer e60s. So, I do know that an OEM e60 16" wheel CAN be fitted. Whether or not the wheels you're talkng about will clear the calipers I can't say. Do keep in mind that e39s have a 74.1mm hub vs. a 72.56 for e60 (which can be fixed with rings). Good luck!
