^^ i know...thats why i wanted so BAD,,, is so unique..
i dont mind paying some % from the oem price..( the rest % covered by insurance)..
i still think is a OEM option(some kind of special glass) but for folks in europe...

I recently purchased front and rear seals and now I am thinking about holding off on the front seal and have it all done at once. I watched a DIY seal replacement and it shows the seal R/R with the glass installed. I'm thinking when they change the glass they will replace this seal anyway. It's held in with double sided tape. If they don't, then maybe I should replace it before its changed as I am sure there will be extra butyl in there that will be in the way and would hate to disturb it. The old seals are at the point now where they are starting to break down.

Maybe one can go back with OEM if they pay the difference in cost? Wasn't sure and haven't placed a call to insurance company yet. I have USAA.
Paid a 150 extra for the BMW glass after the insurance. Needed to see the tiny BMW logos.

Make sure to get a good installer who sources the glass. A shitty job might see the cracks down the road, which happened to my Audi done at the dealer.

Mine was replaced with OE glass (w/ BMW logo). The windshield repair company that I used, favored my side, and pushed the insurance company to pay for OE glass. If you don't request it, the insurance company will go cheap on you. You paid for the insurance, and now they should pay up when YOU need coverage. I recommend calling local BMW/Porsche/Mercedes/Audi dealerships and ask who they recommend for windshield repair -- go with someone who has worked on these cars before.
