Check the laws in your state.

I have huper optik and like it just fine.

Mine is 35% rear and 50% front in keeping with our state laws. I know plenty of people ticketed for not conforming to the law. Besides, 20% is way too dark IMO, unless you only drive during daylight.

FomulaOne Tint is what I just put on. Best tint I have ever had. It's worth looking for.

+1 FormulaOne is highly recommended it is designed specifically for automobile tint (high quality film). Huper Optik is good but "ok" for automobile since it was designed for building tinting and not auto.

Not being defensive because I am perfectly happy that I chose huper optik, but maybe you can help me understand how sunlight on building windows is different from sunlight on auto glass

Windows on buildings don't go up and down inside doors and weatherstripping.

From my understanding, HO is a wonderful if not the best tint film for buildings; it's thicker than standard auto tint films therefore harder to installed especially in the back window of vehicles. You may want to check if you have HO all around all windows... I've heard that some will do HO on the sides but standard tint fillm in the back due to it's film thickness.

Please take my information with a grain of salt, I am no expert in this area; just relaying what I have heard.

Sincerely.

when huper optik IS installed it offers one of the best heat rejection characteristics without needing to be so dark. Plus, it looks straight baller, especially in 40% all around!

Many 3 series people i know have it and for one, you can barely feel the sun on you. Think of a hot day when you need to crank the a/c but the sun is so hot that it doesn't matter when it hits your skin... H-O takes care of that for good. Just get a place that can install it for you!

Cuz its a ceramic tint brand!

Formula1 Pinnacle is still better though and also less expensive. The quality control is way better.

Huper = Made in Germany, so they don't follow the US standards for tint. Plus like I said before many have said there is a little bit of metal in the ceramic tint. Plus the ceramic part is only on side of the film....

F1= Made in USA and only approved authorized installed can install it. The standards are very rigorous and that's why not many shops carry Formula1. Plus, the ceramic inside the film, not just a layer.

It does depend on where you live. Here in TX, legal is 35%, but I went with a darker tint (20%) to give me better heat reduction and deflection. The 20% still looks comparable to the 35% during the day so I won't get pulled over (knock on wood) and at night gives me an almost limo like tint exterior, without the problem of interior visibility when backing out or looking in my side mirrors that limo tint gives you.

Formula1 and Huber Optik are both great tints for our e60's but since you're leasing your car, it's kind of hard to justify throwing down over 3 bills for tint on a car that you're not gonna keep long term. I went with 3M Black Chrome 20% which is still a high quality tint, but didn't have to pay a premium price ($240) like I would have if I'd gone Formula1 or Huber Optik.

I've got some pics of my tint here. I've also got more interior pics of the tint in my gallery.
