I HAVE 16" RIMS ON MY 520i. it is 2.2L I6. im planning to buy 124s but i live in a country with plenty of rocky roads and holes. will affect my performance when i go up-hill and down-hill or stright. acceleration???

how about comfort? will i feel a big difference? what do u guys suggest?

im going from

front: 225/55 to 245/40

read: 225/55 to 275/35

WHT do u guys suggest?
If the rolling radius remains the same I doubt you will see much improvement in acceleration. Braking performance and handling ... most definitely. But, I suspect "the rocky roads and holes" will take their toll on the 40 / 35 aspect tires and 18" wheels. Is wheel and tire insurance available in your country?

Nope no insurance on the wheels and tires. Im just gonna have to be carefull with the 18"s. Anyhow, im thinking of making them my summer set up, as for the winter, ill set up my 16s as the wholes will be filled with water and my 18s will crack, much safer to stay 16 in the winter. dont u think so?

Keeping your 16" set up for winter driving is a great idea. But take a look at what my pothole experience resulted in :

Thank you guys for the comment. but i did go with 18" 124s and bought them from Wees75, a member here. He has factory dunlop RFTs on them, thats the downside to it, but other then that, perfect condition.

thx guys for the feedback
I have the same combo on my '08 and don't mind the runflats one bit. Car handles great and is not overly rought or noisy riding, plus the rft's can be a big plus when you actually have a flat tire (which I have already had). I think they are great looking wheels too. Check mine out I had'em chromed

====================

hey bteljuice1,

I wish I knew man, the only way I have deleted mine in the past was to erase all text, and place "The item here at the forum that was for sale or in question has been sold, sorry!!"

I would then just sign off, but I have no idea how we can delete that something was ever here?

Your forum friend,

Eddie Presley

Thx presley, totally appreciate it. BTW did you ever get to sell your wheels? AND how low is the aerodynamic kit?it looks really good on your car with those 166. in my country, we have a lot of hills. Meaning a lot of uphills and downhills. it ll probably hit a lot no?
