Saw some original Hartge wheels for sale, but they came off a E46 325i, will the offset fit a 2006 530i?
Here are the details"

Front:235/35 offset ET40 (8x19)
Rears: 265/35 offset ET46 (9x19)

Will these wheels look too small (width wise) on my car? Would spacers be recommended to make them stick out more? What is the widest tyre size i could go on these rims?

If anyone has pics of these rims on their car I would like to see how ur setup looks.

Thanks fellow modders!

Don't go for them.

You would need thiiick spacers. At least 20mm in front and rear and they would still look stucked in.
Too much hassle I think.

They could look also bit too small with those tires. The correct ones would be; 245/35 and 275 or 285/30.

edit: Crap snapped.

Thanks for the feedback. Newbie question to the world of wheels, but what does ET46 offset mean? What is the best offset for a 530i? What is an M5 offset? I like that look.

Offset ET46 means that the attaching point of the wheel is located 46mm towards the outer edge, measured from the center of the wheel width.
M5 offset means the stock offset for M5 wheels, that is:
8,5 x 19 Front, ET12
9,5 x 19 Rear, ET28

As you can imagine, the wider the wheel, the bigger is the offset number (ET number) to get the wheel to stay inside the wheel well.

edit: This is a great tool to play and learn about the affect of the offset number & wheel width to the original OEM wheel. Put a stock E60 wheel specs on the first line and then the aftermarket wheel specs onto the second. The you'll see how much the new wheel would be pushed out from the wheel well or pulled in. To see how much you can push/pull the new wheel in your wheel wells, you can go to your car and do some measurements, or ask members.

Thanks again! I will save my monies! I came across a set of style 220 m3 wheels from an 09 m3. I like them better!
