hi,
im sure some of you guys know about my suffering with the installation of dension 500 in my e60, well, i have finally managed to do it huraaaaaai ... BUT i wasn't very happy with the 4GB usb stick i had, so i bought a 2nd-hand 80GB ipod classic, and now i'm trying to simply plug it in the car and play it like i used to do with the usb, but when i plug it, it only charges, and doesn't do anything else, the car doesn't sense that this ipod is connect and the ipod doesn't say anything neither, well, apart from showing the charging sign on the top right .... so if someone can help i would thank him so much and stop calling my ipod gay, thanks

My primary iPod is a 160GB Classic pretty much permanently connected to my GW500 in the glove box w/o problem.
Check and make sure your iPod cable has green-ish color connector that plugged to the GW500, if it is you have the newer cable so the problem is somewhere else ... the iPod should display DENSION logo when all working ... also try a different kind of iPod.

You should connect the iPod using the cable I circled in yellow (notice the green-ish DIN plug) from the GW500 kit:

and i use a cable similar to the one u circled, im not sure of the greenish bit becoz its installed deep inside the car and it would take me ages to take it out and then back in
