did you really feel like you gave up handling or high speed stability? or did it get better? I'm very intrigued by what seems to be a great performing all around tire with high treadwear rating, but am concerned about the ride getting too "mushy".

thanks.

i dont think you will find a SINGLE person here who has something good to say about RFTs

Yep, everyone here (and everywhere else I've seen) hates RFTs. I am actually picking up a set of A/S Plus' today (hopefully).

That's not true: They do "run flat" as advertised, yep that's about it. Other than that they suck

I totally understand that but I'm looking for a comparison in ride/performance from having gone from RFTs to Michelin Pilot A/S.

Your ride will be quieter and softer over rough pavement. Do you autocross or track your car? If so, you will notice a slight decrease in performance as the sidewalls will compress more with the A/S tires. If you drive on the street, you won't notice anything.

I like my RFs. They've saved my ass before.. I like the look too. Very stable at 130mph as well  never ridden in one without runflats, but I don't think my car rides bad.

+1 I went from factory RFT to PS A/S and couldn't be happier. It is quite subjective, to be sure, but the ride and control are superb with the PS. Unless you are on the track I don't see much difference. I have about 5,000 miles on my PS now and they are wearing perfectly. Great traction in rain. I will take them off and put on my winter set in about November. Even though they are A/S they don't do well in too much snow I am told. Good luck making your decision.

so you are saying that you girfriend is the best in the world cause you havent got any other... think about it for a sec... I was amazed how a car can be different just by tire swap (Bridge RTF v. Michelin PilotSport same wheel and sizes)
my 2c :-)

Going from Dunlop SP 01 run flat to Michelin Pilot Sports A/S...

Handling, ride, stability, road noise GREATLY improved. I found the run flats to be horrible tires. The sidewalls maybe stronger but I thought the grip sucked. Highway stability improved two fold. The run flats tramlined horribly. The car would dive into the next lane when changing lanes, I though the car's front end was crap until I changed the tires.

The tire change made a huge improvement in all aspects of how the car drives.
