No problems here. Although, my butt dyno doesn't feel any difference.
I have to agree.

Al - sorry, I gave info above for a 6 cyl -- may not apply for your V8.

For anyone looking for a cheap K&N, here is a used one on ebay that appears to be in good shape. It's only at $0.99 right now.

I changed mine approx 1000 miles ago - Noise level has increased slightly, rev pick up seems very slightly better.
A very cost effective upgrade in my opinion.

Do you know where i can purchase one for a 545i. I noticed they only sell for the 525 530.

I did it first thing when I got my car. It's a cheap and easy mod. As for performance, it's nothing drastic, but definitely a different sound and feel when you start up the car shortly after changing it out. I say go for it. Can't hurt.

I doubt there is much difference when you swap the K&N for a new OEM filter, but I felt a huge difference when I dumped my old paper filter for a new K&N.

...but, when someone needs to complain about rough idling in the morning, he/she'd better off put back the paper OEM filter or K&N filter will be blamed for it.
