Anyone here have it? (on a 545 preferably) Do you have it in conjunction with an aftermarket exhaust?

Gaining a few hp would be nice but all I really care about is the sound...

Does it sound good?
How much louder is it on a scale of 1 to 10?

I have it. I got the throttle body, intake and exhaust at the same time and all I can really hear is the exhaust. I guess I'll have to pay attention but I don't think I hear anything substantial coming from the engine.

Did you install all 3 at the same time? If you did then it'd be tough to know which part contributes what to the sound. Do you hear any sort of "whoosh", roar, or air rushing in, that's characteristic of intake sound?

Yep. I got them all installed at the same time. I know the sound of an aftermarket intake but I don't remember hearing it from my car. I'll try to listen when I go home today.

Yup, I have the Dinan CAI on my 6er...couldn't tell a difference! Maybe I got to hear it from outside :-) But there seemed to be some sort of swirling air noise coming from the engine during hard acceleration, might be from the dinan intake.

I think the main reason we don't hear much of a sound from the Dinan intake is because it's still enclosed in an airbox whereas other aftermarket intakes, like the Britalman, use open-air filter elements.

Minimal noise from the intake. If you listen very close, you may hear a little added growl as the revs come over 3000 rpm.

Your gain is in hp (more than a few) versus the added noise.

If you're asking about gains in horsepower, the intake is supposed to have the most gain over the exhaust, and throttle body. Dinan claims 17hp. That's pretty good.
