For those who live in the metro Detroit area, I was wondering where I can install my springs for my E60. I've contacted VR Performance but they charge a lot too install springs.

I had mine done at Woodward Auto in Pontiac. I think the rate was $65 / hour for 5 hours including the alignment. Several people I work with have had work done there and have been pleased. If you call ask for Bill and tell him Jeff Jones recommended them.

I didn't get an estimate from VR, but know they are good guys -- just expensive. Did you try Nikolas Motorsports? They quote around $900 just for labor with the alignment! Another place you could try is Munk's Motors in Pontiac -- Chris is the owner and a great guy. I get tech inspections done there, but have no idea what they would charge for springs (and didn't think about checking when I got mine done).

If you haven't bought springs yet and have a 545/550, I have a set of Eibachs available.

One other place to try is MotorWerks a similar shop to Nikolaus specializing in Mercedes and Bimmers on the north side of town. However, probably similar in price to Nikolas at $90/hour. Good luck and let us know who you go with.
