I ordered (just one) spark plug from palican parts. As I was not sure if I would get the right kind, I just ordered one plug, and turned out, rightfully so. I went through their find the part process and ordered one for my car (N52 engine), I got it last week and it ONLY had one tip. I was expecting the one with quad tip plug. Needless to say, I returned that one.

Now the question is: Where do you get the right (high performance NGK quad tip) plug other than the dealer. I called the local dealer, who wants $23.00 a plug + tax. That would be my last resort, but I am hoping someone who have replaced their plugs themselves, can tell me where can I get the right kind

thanks for you time and help.

I purchased my OEM Bosch sparkplugs from Bavarian Autosport (BavAuto) for my tune-up. BavAuto recommends that you stick with Bosch plugs and I've always have been pleased with your advise and recommendatons. FWIW, when it comes to BMW OEM parts you can get a small savings by purchasing on-line, but only around 5%, so I order several items together. As for the similar NGK plugs, a search of the forum should provide several posts regarding their source.

The correct spark plugs for the N52 actually have only one electrode.

Bosch FR-7-NPP-332
or
NGK PLZFR6A11S

You may have been looking at plugs for the M54, those had the quad tips. I changed mine about 4 months ago, used the NGK's from pelicanparts, and have been very happy.

I bought Bosch Platinum + for $5.99 each at advance auto parts, they work great (so far).
