To be honest I'm not so sure the 2008 benefits much from an exhaust change, the new stock exhaust on the 08 already sounds much better than my 07 ever did and power gains from an exhaust only are likely to be marginal at best. With an LCI 550 Sport it's close to perfect as is, the 550 sport suspension is unique to the 550 which now the M-Sport plus ARS (the 535 and 528 carry over the pre LCI sport setup) and the 172's are already some of the nicest wheels you'll see on an E60.

Hey Steve, I agree the LCI 550i's newly designed exhaust is fabulous, especially the black tips. The sound is great, but I think there's always a little bit more power to be extracted from the overall system, but the cost of that is obviously sound and MPG. Other power mods of course aside from the usual intake/ecu/exhaust might be a supercharger, and well, we all know what the progress is like with that R&D. I'm not even sure if there are aftermarket headers/cats available for the 550is. See you for the SLO meet!

Oh also, I think the absolute very first mod to get is the SB!

Dinan has several products including a new intake system reported to give you a 17 to 18 hp increase for $1200.00 They also have software for the 07 with a statement that software for the 08 is on the way. They also reference a new mass flow sensor that works in conjunction with the intake system.

http://www.dinancars.com/store/Engin...p-1-c-430.html

If you do all their mods it looks like 40hp increase may be possible bringing us up to the 400 hp mark.
