Yeah, I really like #1 too. It's different. And according to those that have seen the replica 166's, the finish and deep dish look just isn't there like the OEM's.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen any pix with the E60 on 19" Hartge Classic II's (replica or original). If so, post it or PM me the link so I can check it out.

That's so funny you mention this. I was looking at these wheels in Australia as well, but they want almost $400 to ship the US. If they arrive and have damage or are not to my liking, the recourse for sending them back and paying mroe out of pocket will just make me mad. Thanks for the advice on both wheels though. This is definitely good to know. The Hartge Classic Replicas though are made by a company called Velocity Motoring. Have you seen these exact wheels as well?

As for the 166 replicas, there is a company in the US that sells the Italian ones, but they don't have our offset. Stinks!

Check it out...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-8-5-9-5-...017555414QQrdZ1

I have not seen the Classic Replicas by Velocity Motoring. I was interested in the Classic II's (not the Classic), so those were the ones I described as having a bad finish.

The good thing with the original Classics vs. the Classic II's is that there are many companies that make Replicas of the original Classic and only a couple that make Replicas of the Classic II's, so it should be easier to find a better quality Classic Replica.

I personally saw a Classic Replica made by Monet wheels on someones E60 and it looked pretty good with decent finish. http://www.monetwheels.com

Thanks for the link to the Italian 166 Replica on eBay. That is the best Replica I have seen because it is an exact copy of the original 166 in terms of size offsets and even the bore (so there is no need for a hub ring). Because it has the original offset the spokes go really deep in the middle (like the original M5's) vs. all the other Replicas where the spokes are shallower. For me the ideal setup for my car (non Xi) would be to have the same offset as the M5 in the rear, but a different offset at the front because I think 245's are too narrow for 8.5" wheels and 255's would rub with a 12mm offset (which is the front offset of the OEM 166 and these ones too).

As for the other manufacturers you mention, my wife would kill me if I spent $5K+ on wheels. We just bought a new house and she has major plans on decorating. My car budget is limited.
Ha...I'm in the same boat. That's why I got oem 166's. Since you want 19", get the replica 166's. The other one will look small in 19 because of the lip.

I might be too much conservative but for a car above 60K I prefer none-replicas, but from this two if it is only matter of $$$ get the best wheel Style 166 from M5 (now even lean more for that although when I saw the style 167 (M6) on Nick's car that was awesome). But hey that is just me.
