sup all! I tried searching 1st before I started this thread but I couldnt seem to find anything. I sold some of my parts of my FX tonight and im ready to order my rims. I have an 06 Xi and I wanted to ask a couple of questions. Thanks in advance for all your help.

1. Can I run a staggered setup?
2. What's the lowest offset I can run without rubbing?
3. What offset should I get if I decide to go with 19's and what tire size?
4. Will stock M5 setup fit?

I'm not familiar with BMW's @ all and this is my 1st one. Any input is greatly appreciated.

yes staggered setup for sure is possible. past well-known members who have had the 530xi that had staggered wheels (mainly the VMR VB3 CSL style wheels) include C'sbimmer and drlev99. offsets for the xi model I believe are around the 30s to 40s. for the CSL style wheels for example the offsets would be ET40 in front and ET33 in the rear. for a 19" wheel, it depends on the widths of the wheels as well but most common sizes are 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 where tire sizes would be a 245/35/19 and 275/30/19. a stock M5 166 wheel setup will not fit since the offsets are too low for the xi models, sorry. the xi e60s have a much higher offset than the xi e60s since they are 4-wheel drive. plus wheels straight off of an M5, the tire sizes are too big for the non-M e60s as well. hope this answers your questions.

Let me see if I can help.

1). Yes.

2). Depends on the width. There's no other way of putting that without knowing the Wheel/Tire combination.

3). Also depends on the Wheel/Tire combination.
BMW sell a staggered set of 124 wheels designed for the xi models. Front:8X18:43 Rear:9X18:55.
There is also a set made by HARTGE - The Classic2 8x19:40, 9x19:46 (may need to work the wheel housing to fit)
Hope that gives you an idea of where to start.

4). No.

I've been looking for a staggered set as well for my 535xi for a while. It is difficult to find a set of good looking wheels for the xi.
The most common ones are the VMR VB3 CSL (as NeRwEEzy mentioned) and the MIRO 346 M6 Replicas - (neither is really my cup of tea)

Good luck. Let us know if you find anything that looks good.

thank you for the help guys .. I'm actually looking into getting the M6 reps, but I really like a really deep lip in the rear, so it's still somewhat up in the air. The size I'm looking for is 19x8.5(f), 19x9.5?. Will I be able to get away with a 32 offset in the rear?

Your best bet is to do a search for xi fitments on this site. It has been spoken about extensively by alot of us and there is alot to consider. Do your homework now and it will payoff in the long run. Do not bypass this crucial step or you will end up buying the wround wheels like several members have done in the past.

Thanks Rick. I tried searching originally before I asked the questions. I always try to do my homework 1st beforehand, my motto has always been "do it right the 1st time". I'll try and search some more.

That's very wise! So did I.

Search this site and you'll find the answers.
There are hundreds of threads about the matter here.

Good luck!

You can't get a real big lip on the rear with the xi....due to the higher offsets.

The ideal wheel & tire sizes are what Nerweezy said above. VMR makes a few new styles aside from the CSL....V710 (HRE P40 Monoblok reps) & V713...all avail in offsets for the xi and i.

M6 reps are possible, but the wheels do not have a lip. Miro makes a set in 19" with offsets ET38 in front and ET40 in the rear, will fit xi e60s. I PM'd you some info btw
