Most of the Asanti wheels I've seen are in chrome so IMO they're too blingy. My friend has a set of Asanti 128s on his 645 convertible. I guess some of their wheels look cool but they're just not my style...
Just curious, which style are you looking at and what size?
As for the clear corner lights, you'd have to buy the whole European style headlight assembly to get the clear corners and they list for almost $2K. There's no easy way of getting the clear corners.
Where are you located?

Depending on the type of tires and finish you want on the wheels, you can get good prices for Radenergie through www.wheelautohaus.com. Ask for Charles. You can check out some of the other wheels they have on their site too.
As far as what other wheels to recommend...there are soo many out there I wouldn't know where to start. My advice is to define your requirements...type of finish, brand, 1 piece or multipiece, forged or not, BMW specific manufacturer or general application, five star or multispoke....etc.....
For me, I always wanted black, forged, 3-piece, multi-spoke wheels and the Radenergie was the perfect wheel even though it's still hard to justify the cost...haha

Between those two, I'd get the AF122. I actually like the AF120 in graphite. What do you think about that wheel?

Lucky wife! But I think that bday present is indirectly for you. haha
I would definitely pick the HREs over the Asantis but yeah, they're more expensive. The Asantis are still nice wheels. Get them since you're getting a group discount. And post some pics...

Yeah, in my opinion it is not worth $2K just to get your corner lights clear. You'd have to get the whole front light assembly. I'd rather stick with the amber lens and spend my $2K on something else. I believe in Europe they are standard clear?
If you are getting the wheels for your wife get her something simple that you would both like, and not too expensive. I have a few friends that bought nice rims for their wives only to have the women ruin them (curb rash, dents, etc.). Some women (not all of course) don't know how to drive with big rims. My friends ended up taking them off and selling them. Their wives preferred driving on stock wheels.
Good luck and try to post some pictures when you get the new wheels.

I wonder......I've seen full light assemblies on eBay for around $400-$500 sometimes even less. I wonder if it's possible to get used assemblies from Europe or Asia for that price range on eBay. It'll still be rather expensive just to get clear corner lenses but just a thought...
