Hi all,
I had my front 2 tyres changed by a mobile unit the other day and the guy pointed out that the tyres were wearing harder on the outer walls and tracking should be looked at. Well the car is at the garage today and tomorrow so I mentioned this and they quoted ?330 to do the tracking. I have Eagle NCT5 Run flats all round and from reading other threads they seem to wear unevenly - even more so than the usual BMW wear and tear.
?330 seems a lot of cash for this, but then I have never had a car quite like this before either. Is this the 'going rate'?, will it make a difference or is leaving it ok? The rear tyres have 3mm and 5mm on them, so maybe I should wait until these are down a bit more and then get it done.
On a side note, since changing the tyres, the car is so much smoother, I hadn't realised quite how bad these tyres are when they have high mileage.
Thanks in advance.

Unless you have Active Steering run away very fast!!!
It wasn't listed as an extra on the details when I got the car anyway.
Cheers,

Hi thanks for the response. Daft question but how would I know? I bought the car 1 year old, would the dealer be able to check on the system?

Take it elsewhere.
I took it here http://www.elitedirect.com/06a-alignment/checks.html
Cost was around ?150 with some adjustments to toe angle and camber. It will be less if nothing needs doing.
You need to find someone with a Hunter laser alignment set up.
Have a search on here:

Made a big difference to my car.
