My Ride: E60 530i, Dynamic Drive, Xenon, Active steering, Navi Business, 17 inch 122, comfort seat, active seats, professional telephone, PDC, Logic 7, 6 CD box., probably the oldest E60 in the forum registered BMW in Munich marts 2003.
Hi,
I?m thinking of buying and mounting a set of 19? style 95 wheels on my E60. However, I?m not sure that they fit readily or if I have to mount some spacers. In short the clearance to the strut housing will be 17 mm less in the front than on E60 wheels. The rear should not be a problem. Do I need spacers and if so, could I just mount them in the front and how wide should they be at a minimum? Any considerations before installing spacers? What is the size (ET and width) of various aftermarket wheels that you have mounted?
The details
The 95 style is made for the 7?series wheels have different ET, ET24 front and rear, width, 9? front and 10? rear, whereas the E60 19? is 8? wide front ET20 and 9.5? ET32 rear (e.g. style 128) . Mounting the style 95 it will result in 17 mm less clearance from the strut housing to the inside of the wheel. In the rear the clearance would actually be 2 mm more than on E60 wheels.

If you do need/want spacers, I have a pair of H&R 15mm spacers which I ordered for the rears of my car but ending up using 20mm's instead.

Did you change your bolts on the backwheels or did you use the original ones for the 15mm spacers?

Yep! You need longer bolts regardless of the size of spacer you get. Those 5 bolts are the only thing connecting the rim to the car and when going 80+ mph you want them to be secured!
