So I had run this idea awhile ago...and i've started to prep one wheel to pain the inner barrel...i was also going to paint the back side of the spokes
i have VMR VB3's and taping the sides off is such a b*tch.......each side of the spoke has 5-7 little pieces of tape because the spokes kind of curve...not only is this time consuming...and almost deters me from wanting to even do it bc even though i may get thru 1 i know i'll have 3 more to do...having so many pieces of tape...i know the paint line will be pretty shotty...because one piece lying on another creates wholes for paint to seep in to...
anybody out there have any suggestions on a better way to mask off the areas i want to keep painted?

I agree and that's why I have only done it once!! I bet you'll be saying the same in years to come.

I have seen people use index cards. Stick them inbetween the tire and rim. (assuming you don't need to paint the lip) insert cards vertically.
Good luck
