I recently purchased a set of style 138 wheels from a guy locally. 3 of the 4 wheels have Conti's with a minimum of 90% tread left, 4th wheel had Goodyear GSA runflat with a bubble on the sidewall. Wheels are in excellent/new condition except for 1 minor scuff on 1 wheel with GSA.
I went ahead and ordered a 4th conti from Sears and had them mount it to the wheel with runflat. Now I finally have a set of 4 wheels with excellent tread that matches all around. All set, NO!
I installed one of the wheels in the rear and realized that the offset is too conservative. My heart sinks, I realize what just happened. I was sold a set of xi wheels even though the guy swore that the wheels with fit my non xi. After some research I found that there is a 23mm offset difference between the two.
I am left with 3 choice and would like to know what you guys think. Returning them is not an option since I already spent additional $$ to get the new tire.
1) Sell this set with tires and find another set from a NON xi.
2) Sell this set of wheels without tires, keep tires as spares.
3) Get spacers and make this setup work.
All advise is greatly appreciated.
TIA
Raj

sell everything, cut your losses and start fresh. I don't think that you will be happy running 20mm spacers and wheels with tires on them are usually easier to sell.

Whats wrong with running 20mm spacers?
If you like the rims smaller than 19", get a set of 18" 124's instead. They come in i and xi versions also, so be careful.
