The wheel offset defines the distance from the centre of the hub to the point it mounts. Changing the offset will affect how much the wheels 'stick out'. (Or indeed 'stick in' if wrong!)

As such there isn't an 'offset' for a 525i. The standard 16", 17" and 18" wheels have ET20. If fitting 19" wheels the official sizes are 8.5Jx19ET18 front and 9.5Jx19ET32 rear. With 245/35R19 and 275/30R19 tyres. This is a staggered setup. If fitting non-staggered use the front sizes on the rear...

What is staggered and non-staggered? Whats the difference, disadvantage, advantage?

Staggered means wider tyres at the rear. To accommodate the rim is wider too. One can argue about the advantages and disadvantages but the look alone does it for me... Rumour has it that the extra rubber stunts performance slightly but with my 500Nm I feel the extra grip is worth it (Remember BMWs are generally rear-wheel drive)

I checked my orginal setup, its the same back and front. So should I go with the staggered setup, I only have a 525, which is kinda low on power already if I have a staggered setup, it would lower the power more...

Your call... It's cheaper to go non-staggered... Apparently, it's the increased friction from the wider tyres that affects things and maybe a bit more weight - but if you're losing the runflats then the savings are regained!

Here is a great site to get the "real deal" OEM specs on BMW wheels. You will find the manufacturer's offsets for each wheel.

BMW Wheel Specs (http://zoouz.free.fr/wheels.htm)

Hope this helps.

The link doesn't work anymore since the guy had to delete all the pics. A copyright issue...

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. You're right the pictures don't always work because they've been removed with the exception of the pictures people have uploaded.

In order to properly use the site, you need to know the wheel's style number. Then simply select the little question mark icon (?) near the style wheel you want the information on. You will then see all the specifications for that particular style of wheel.

See example of Style 166

Sorry about the confusion.
