Obviously we all know the benefits of correct tire pressure.. better gas mileage, prevention of blow outs, etc. I just put dubs on my car and was told to maintain it at 34 psi (by Les Shwuab) even though the max is 44. I never thought of going that high but isn't 34 a bit low?

Hi guys, i've been confused with this for a while. So i tried to add some air at the gas station. I read the manual and the recommended psi for my tires is about 32 or something like that. The problem is the gauge on the pump shows 1, 2, 3, etc. I'm guessing that 1 mean 10psi , 2=20psi and so on. Is this correct?

I also run Toyo Proxes T-1R on my 20" wheels in 245/35/20 and 275/30/20
Toyo in Germany offers you a service where they give you the recommended minimum pressures based on the model of your car.
The minimum recommendations I received from Toyo are 2.5 bar front (36psi) and 2.8 bar rear (41psi)
These are there minimum recommendations to be adjusted upwards according to load or longer high speed travel.

Mine are set on 38 front and 43 rear, wearing perfectly even across the width.

BMW always recommend higher pressures for the rears themselves and never the same all round. Must have a reason, probably cause the car is rear wheel drive and it aids the handling characteristics.

You're sure it's not a gauge in bar ? PSI divided by 14.5 gives you the pressure in bar.
