What's the deal with the 12mm Spacers?

BTW, this may not be the post to ask, but does anyone know a way to cover or replace the reflector in front of the front wheel with body color reflectors??

Its due to the fact the rear offsets are ET32 so people add a 12mm spacer to get the more flush look. The 12mm spacer pushes the wheel towards the fender and away from the strut. So you're ET32 is now a 20 which most prefer
