My Ride: 2008 535i Alpina White / Natural Brown Dakota, 550 19" Wheels, M5 Rear Spoiler, 40% Lumar Tint....M Tech Kit on the way!
I've read a couple of posts here about the "need" to use 12mm spacers on the car to complete the "look" with 172's
I talked to the guy that sold me my 172's and he wasn't sure it was a good idea. He has the spacers on stock and can sell them to me, but he found it unnecessary. He said that my setting was factory standard.
Call me crazy but if the guy that sells the spacers/wheels/tires isn't crazy about the idea then why should I?
Can someone post pics to see the difference? Can you really tell? Is this worth it?
TIA.

Nothing more than personal preference. I wanted a more aggressive stance with the rear wheels pushed flush with the fenders. You certainly don't NEED to. Besides, it's all of 12 mm. Not a huge difference to begin with.

Its due to the fact the rear offsets are ET32 so people add a 12mm spacer to get the more flush look. The 12mm spacer pushes the wheel towards the fender and away from the strut. So you're ET32 is now a 20 which most prefer
