whats is it with boy racers in the uk?

My Ride: 2006 530 d M-sport e60
i get boy racers all the while pushing me for a race, had some dick in a peugot 205 gti 1.6 trying to race me tonight 
, he got owned of course but why?, whats the point?

yeah if i pulled up next to an aston martin i might be tempted to race him. not because i'd win but because i'd want to see that thing fly.

). I matched my speed and pulled away in 3rd gear, I just wanted to see him beat the crap out of me. But he didn't take the bait I just want to see one of those cars be driven like they were meant to be driven. But down here in Naples with all the old people, that is close to impossible.

Don't take it to heart though. I would just live with it. In my younger days I did the same. Not anymore though. I recall the one occasion when I was in my 106GTi and next to me was a 911 turbo. The road was straight for some yards and then a 90degree right hander followed by a 90degree left. Sort of a large round about with 3 lanes.
Oh in typical UK weather, it was drizzling that day and the roads slippery. Lights went green, and both cars floored it. The porsche reached the right hand bend first but I was only a car length back. In braking, I passed the 911 on the outside and then followed by the sharp left. As I hit the straight the 911 was some 2 to 3 cars back. He could not go around the bends as good as the 106Gti could and that made my day, and also for the passenger in my car. We both have never forgotten that incident but I am sure the 911 owner was humiliated his 60k car lost to one that cost 12k, with a puny 1.6i engine.
As long as you take some of these guys on (if you do), make sure you are always ahead.
