The offset for the RG-R wheels is ET38. We have had the wheels for 2500 miles so far and no rubbing or other issues with fitment. Tire Rack guarantees fitment of the wheels.
Sorry I do not have pics. The car looks much better now especially with the M Aero kit fitted, but the fender gap is a little too large for my taste. This is not an issue with the wheels, it is an issue with the suspension used on the xi models. I am considering fitting sport springs to lower the car, but since it is my wife's car, I will not do it unless I can be sure the ride quality will not decrease drastically. The M3 is too harsh for her and I don't want to make her car the same way!
Good luck with your wheel search.

What tires are you running with the BBS'? Staggered or the same all around?

According to two different dealers you can't run staggered on the XI's. Supposedly it has a negative effect on the xdrive system. I'm no expert but I imagine that the transfer of power is probably affected by the dynamics of different size tires on the rear.
One explanation I heard of is that in a full time 4 wheel drive car all 4 wheels must be identical so that the front and the rear axles rotate at exactly the same speed, creating the same amount of resistance. If the front is different from the back becase the wheels and/or tires are different, the centre differential will kick in because the system thinks one of the axles is slipping. If this happens full time it will rapidly wear out or burn out the centre differential.
The same applies to the differential in each axle.
For such reason you must use exactly the same wheels and tires in all four corners, and must rotate your tires often.
And for the same reason you should not use a worn tire in one corner and a brand new one in the other.

That can't be entirely right, can it? How do they run staggered setups on the higher end X5's?

Perhaps it is the overall diameter of the tires that really matters since the X-drive system senses wheel speed and uses that information to distribute torque. So if the vehicle uses staggered tires it may still works as long as the front and the back are of exact same overall diameter.
Perhaps for a vehicle that comes from the factory with staggered set-up the front-back speed difference has been taken into account internally, and has been compensated. In such case if you stagger a vehicle that is NOT meant to do so, and if the front and the back ended up being of different diameter, you risk wearing out your centre diff.
Again I don't have all the answers.

I've talked to several dealers and BMW direct today, and they all have said that staggered is not reccomended and it will cause problems with the xdrive. I don't know about the X5's; maybe thay have a different center differential or the power transfer is different. Knowing how my car handles with the standard Contitouring 17's 225/50's I imagine that with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's or Pilot Sport PS2's 18 245/40's that the car will handle very well so why chance damage with staggered?
So, we can't run staggered. Now, let's finalize whether or not we can go up to 19 inches. Beemerdreamer - your dealer says no. But Cmasbimmer - your research says otherwise. Anybody else have any idea?
