I never thought it would be so hard to find out exactly what BMW wheels and sizes fit my 2007 530XI I know that the size max is supposed to be 18X8's with a 43mm offset but I still can't get a answer from my dealer as to which styles come in this size! Has anyone upgraded their wheels and what are your experiences? What style and size?

Any wheel that has a 38 or 40mm offset will work on a 530xi. One thing though...don't do a staggered set up. stick with the same size at all 4 corners. if you choose 19's, stick with 245/35/19 all the way around. the wheel size should be 19x8.5 38ET or even ET 40 if they have it. happy hunting!

Now i have the 135m x-styles. They are different to the common 135's... For more details http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...8&hl=other&st=0.

There you also see pics of a 530xi with the 166's

A great tool to use is www.1010tires.com. Use their wheel and offset calculator to figure out what will work well for you. I am upgrading to 166 Wheels (possibly replicas...MIRO) and am doing a 19x8.5 with an ET 38 at all 4 corners. According to 1010Tires, the inset will only be less by 1mm and the outer will be 11mm more, which is minimal and keeps the wheels neatly tucked into the wells. If you choose the standard ET 15 or 20, you'll see what the calculator shows you (30+mm out) which will result in your wheels pushing outside the wells and not looking so hot.

I talked to SP530xi already. He got the standard offset w/ his OEM 19" 166's, hence the reason it's sticking out so far. You do NOT want to buy the standard set for a 530i, or you will end up with the same issues. He also ran a staggered set up with ET 20 in the rear, when it should be ET 55, if you are going to run staggered. What this will do to his X drive system is anyones guess, but I suggest sticking with 38+. Not sure if the OEM's come in this fitment, but if they do, that's what you want.

I got 18 inch BBS RG-Rs from Tire Rack for my wife's 2006 530xi sedan. The wheels are 8.5 inches wide. They are very light because they are forged.

She did not really like any of the OEM wheel options for the xi. I personally think the Style 135 wheels are nice, but it is her car so I went with the RG-Rs.

Well thanks, that's the first thing i hear about that... yeah i already noticed the rims and tires "came out" that much. What would you then suggest for replica's of the 166's for an x-drive? Some of the replica's are really flat like the one's i now have. I more like the real concave one's of the 166's. Could you recommend some to me please? Any pictures?

Thanks for the help!!

What is the offset you took then (sorry i'm not that specified in rims... ).
Do you have any pics for us please? Would be good if you could do that .

Okay, according to my dealer 19's do not work with Xdrive! It's amazing that they cannot give a straight answer to what seems to be a simple question. Thanks for the info! It's more than I got from three visits and about two hours spent at the dealer

The offset for the RG-R wheels is ET38. We have had the wheels for 2500 miles so far and no rubbing or other issues with fitment. Tire Rack guarantees fitment of the wheels.

Sorry I do not have pics. The car looks much better now especially with the M Aero kit fitted, but the fender gap is a little too large for my taste. This is not an issue with the wheels, it is an issue with the suspension used on the xi models. I am considering fitting sport springs to lower the car, but since it is my wife's car, I will not do it unless I can be sure the ride quality will not decrease drastically. The M3 is too harsh for her and I don't want to make her car the same way!

Good luck with your wheel search.
