Has anyone started a poll to see what tires were being shipped on their cars yet? I am curious because my car came with 245/40R18 Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 runflats. These tires are only availabe in the US through the dealer at $400 each!

My 2 front tires had bubbles in the sidewalls and I wanted to replace them so I replaced the whole set with Bridgestone Potenza RE750s (for a cost less than the 2 new NCT5s from the dealer). I am quite happy because the ride comfort is much improved and I notice only a very slight difference in handling. No more stiff runflats for me!

Just curious, but shouldn't Goodyear have replaced those under their general tire warranty?

I'm running Bridgestone Potenza Run flats, 245/40R18

I would have expected you to notice a positive difference in handling and weight. One of the first performance mods people did with Mini was change the tires for weight and grip. For comparison, the 17" Goodyear runflats on the Mini weighed 30llbs each compared to about 20llbs each for aftermarket tires.

I suppose its the luck of the draw on what tyres you end up having. If they happen to have Dunlops during that production day then all cars will have them on that day. Most I've seen on the 18" wheels have been the Dunlops though.
