Hey everyone,

It's new tire season for me as my rear ones have gone bald.
I just have stock Dunlops RF's right now, but I want to switch to something more performance oriented.

So Q's for you :

1) What tires are you rockin?
2) How much did you pay?
3) Were they worth it?

Thanks guys and gents !

I currently have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. If I recall correctly, they were about $1200 mounted and balanced for the set. For me, they work well.

However, where I live you don't necessarily need dedicated snow tires, but we do have enough cold weather and a bit of snow that would make summer only tires a potential hazard, since the rubber on those gets too hard in the winter, the tread pattern is different, etc.

It really depends on where you live and how you drive. A lot of guys don't like the A/S because you do lose some performance on both ends--they're not perfect performance tires, nor are they perfect for snow. They're great for me since I'm not out pushing the limits most of the time, and I don't have to make the switch when the seasons change.

I'm in Miami...so I need good wet performance.

i was considering
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric
Falken 452's

And is it safe just to replace the Rears only? Or should I consider replacing all 4 of them at once. The fronts have a LOT of tread ware left.

I've heard good things about both of those tires, but will defer to one of the guys who has them to make comments. You may also want to ask the pros at Tirerack.com for advice.

Regarding the replacement of the rears only, that is not a problem. It's when you try to replace just one side that can lead to bad results. Opinions may vary on that, but in my experience, so long as the two in the front match and the two in the back match, you're OK. Obviously, handling will be different depending on the characteristics of the two types of tires you're running.

Gee, I wonder why the rears always wear out faster? GL with your choice.
