Looking to order my VMR VB3s' in Hyper Black today and I am getting the 19x10's for the rear. What tire size do I need to run on this, I'm going to be picking up the Falkin FK-452's to go on them.

19x8.5 +40 front
19x10 +38 rear

Falken has a 275/30/19 and the only thing they have in a 285 is is 285/35/19. If I went with the 285's are my tires going to be too tall? If I go 275's are they going to be stretched? I want to try to stay away from streched to help protect my rims.

For the fronts I believe the 245/35/19 is the correct size.

Thanks for any input, just need to figure this out before I decide to pull the trigger and call Charles at VMR back

In my gallery I have 285/35/19's on a 9.5 inch rim so I think a 10 inch rim will be ok. its not that tall but its FAT your at 13 inches of tread

The extra half inch will reduce the height a smidge!

I would say the 275/30 Falkens would look stretched, as I have that sized Falken tire on my 9.5 in rim and it looks stretched somewhat. If you havent bought the tires yet, think about Nitto 555 or Dunlop Direzza. They are the same speed rating, the same tread wear life, and about the same price and they have a little wider section width then the Falken brand. Although I read some reviews on Discount Tire and many folks didnt like the Dunlops, but the Nitto's got high reviews.

Its funny cause I was at Discount Tire yesterday looking at some new tires and they guy told me they recommend 285/30 for the rears instead of 275. The only problem with that is there is limited brand availability in that brand, so they are significantly higher in price then the 275. Which is why I not believe in finding the tire with a wider section width.

Thanks for the info. The 285's sure are alot more money then the 275's. I found the 275's for $205 at Vulcan tire and the 285's are $280. I wonder if I should just go with the 19x9.5 rear instead of the 10's. but the concave on the 10's looks so pimp!

Try www.discounttiredirect.com they have a little bit more inventory and selection then this Vulcan place and they dont charge you shipping. I think the prices are pretty close to the same, when you factor in the shipping its virtually the same price for the same tire. I noticed that Vulcan only had 2 of those 452's in stock, so you may be paying for some tires, then waiting.

The M5 has 9.5" wheels with 285/35-19. Personally I'd go with 295/30-19.

Sent you a PM. Been staring at too many sets of rims and now I am feeling the M5 reps as well but not sure if you can get them in an XI offset. The m6 rims are a no go for me not my style but on some cars they look hot.

I'm ready to pull my freakin hair out already lol Good thing that by the time the snow melts and the streets are cleaned and fixed it will be June

Forget 166 M5 reps...they look like crap. Go with the 285 rear if you can on the 10" rear, or just get the 9.5" rear like everyone else and don't worry about the fit...could get a 275, pay less and have no issues.

The Falkens run narrow compared to other tires....their 285 is more like a 275.
Don't get that ET38 rear offset like you said if you plan to run 285's, or you are rubbing most likely. Like I said before, it's just math, and I've done it. That's 28mm lower than OEM recommends with 9.5" ET55 on a 275. C and I ran ET45, and he used a 10 or 12mm spacer...putting him at ET33-35 with a 275 tire. Your ET38 and 5mm extra of tire in each direction & extra 1/2" of wheel will rub. Even with a 275, you'll be cutting it close.
