what is needed to get dvd/tv working thru idrive

DVD to rear seats is quite simple. DVD to iDrive screen will require some more hardware and connections to the iDrive screen. Options for the latter are MOST, NavTV or ACM. Do a search for these words.

ACM module appears to be the most favoured option but this requires BMW monitors dvd player etc if i read correctly, hopefully someone will correct me and tell me that third party units can be used
on a side note could tell me how to identify which headunit has been fitted in my BMW
