I was curious. If someone bought a set of rims and tires but without tpms, what would you have to do to turn off your warning light? Can that even be done? Or would you have to just deal with the warning being ON all the time?

Yes, TPMS check can be removed or VO removed entirely.

cheap solution - a little square of electrical tape covers the warning light

This is quite odd, but i definitely dont have tpms mounted on my summer rims but i have them on my oem 18's and i dont get any warning light or anything like that, tells me the system status is active when i have the summer rims on!

by the looks of your photo, you have pre-lci, which means you actually have FTM rather than TPMS

I just deal with the light on. Doesn't bother me either. I'll replace the tpms once I need new tires

Egh...

:l

Some state require your '07 and up vehicle to have functional TPMS sensors installed to pass their state inspection.

So removing them may not be the best thing to do.

Plus why would you want such a useful feature stripped out of your car?
