The Spec Dock that was shipped does not work for 08+ E60s because the ashtray is set up different. We have a tray instead of an ashtray at the forward most part of the center console.
Mike at Method Sound fabbed me up some things and made it all work but the Spec Dock cable that I received must be defective because it will not charge my iPod or my 3G iPhone, and it will not read my 3G iPhone.
Mike spoke with the fellas at Spec Dock and they are already working on a new adapter for the 08+ e60s. This said I would receive the first unit which would be completed in a month or two.
Why do these things always happen to me?
On a side note, I could not have asked for better support from both Mike and Spec Dock. Mike went out of his way to fabbed something up for me and didn't charge me anything extra for his time (6+ hours) and effort.
Today I'm going to check and see if the stereo will read and charge the 3G iPhone via USB connection.
