Want to play DVD's on centre consol

Anyone that can help please.
I have a 2007 E60 and contacted my BMW dealer to find out if i can convert the player to DVD and have the system play DVD's on the centre consol. They told me that this is not possible as all the wiring needs to be changed......
I have snice been in touch with a chap here in SA and he has a conversion kit to play DVD's. After reading your forum, i saw notes saying that the screen can only play 256 colour.....
Without recking my brand spanking new car how do i go about playing dvd's on my centre consol and later on having my seats fitted with screens too.

My Ride: 2008 Silverstone II E60 M5 2012 E70 AW X5 50i Sport w/ LCI Aero Kit and Rocker Panels
BMW makes a new video module that fits under the steering column. Cost I believe is around $650 US. You will then need a video source, such as a DVD player or a Video iPod. Your DVD player for the NAV disc will not work, regardless of having this module or not.
