My Ride: 2004 530i

Has anyone installed this on a silver grey (A08) color? Im wondering if i should get the matte black or gloss black vinyl. Also, would it be easier for me to wrap the chrome with it installed on the car, or by removing the chrome trim off the car? Thanks

some have been successful

i vow to never try messing with the stuff again, dumped it and went OEM shadowline

if you do try it out, you will need to completely remove the trim to cover it properly

particularly the back windows

Hi guys,

I just bought a CPO '08 E61 535xiT with every option except the sport package (why get every option save for sport pkg!!??). It has the multi-contour seats, just not the sport wheel and shadowline trim. Mike - I gather from your previous post that you upgraded to shadowline trim. Did you find it easy to install or were there any gotchas?

my car is A08 and i used the matte black from them. i removed the pieces and then wrapped them. be aware it is not for a entry level person. stuff can be hard to work with at times around the corners so you don't get bubbles but it can be done with patience and time.

OEM shadowline....as in the real deal....you could get that from the dealer. Its not cheap I guess. I have been hunting for some prices on this and the best I've found so far is £350 for the OEM matt black trim to replace the chrome. And that price includes the fitting. I don't think I'll find any less than that. Another place quoted me £300 for fitting the vinyl over the chrome !! I think I'll go for the real thing as £350 seems like a relative bargain. My car is black and the chrome just doesn't look right.
