This stuff is impossible to get perfect. I am the most patient person in the world. I even do finish work carpentry. I got so fustrated, I almost kicked a hole in my door. I gave it a few tries and threw the vinyl clear across the yard. Do yourself a favor and buy the real shadowline trim or leave the install to the pros!

You are NOT the only member here who had a BAD experience with this stuff and then had an angry end to it! This is why SO many shadowline sets are sold by Garry!!

I tried it with the trim on the car. I did the drivers side door. It was Ok at best but not perfect. There were some tiny bubbles and scratches were I used the credit card to tuck the vinyl under the trim surrounding the mirror. Maybe most people wouldn't mind the job i did, but I didn't like it. Close up it just doesn't look believable. I think it is imposible to get 100% perfect. If you are a perfectionist then this is not for you.

Since I have some left over, I am going to try taking off a trim piece and covering it. Maybe i will have more success.

Yep, this stuff is a nightmare. I got about 1/4 way through and lost patience, ripped all of it off and next day bought real SL trim from Garry.

I have done this a total of 3 times

...first 2 were matte black

last was glossy black

all of which came out decent but there were small bits where i cut into it too much that i had to redo it (kinda got a lil anal over it)
