I'm looking for some performance upgrades for my 545i.
So far I've only got some simple performance mods like the sprint booster, performance tires , and some octane booster for my fuel. So any suggestions on what else I could add for more performance? I could post a pic of my car if you'd like  |
Welcome to the forum.
We have a 10hp dyno proven exhaust available for the 545i. We have one in stock : http://www.remusexhaustshop.com/series-545...578-p-1284.html |

Octane booster does nothing other than have possibly negative effects in your engine.I looked into this the first time I saw such products a year ago and came to the conclusion it does nothing for performance and may cause some triggering of engine faults and throw codes.
Now true racing gas 100 octane will likely not benefit you and actually decrease perofrmance unless you ran it all the time. The engine is not tuned for 100 percent and does not have the right a/f ratios to deal with such. The engine is designed for 91-94 octane and that is where you will see the most power-you are actually probabyl losing power with the octane booster. A free mod as I am sure you read is to remove your charcoal filter in the airbox. The standard 3 performance mods on any NA car is an air intake, exhaust and ecu software. Personally I recomend the AFE air intake for about 350 bucks it sounds amazing. I love the supersprint or eisenmann race exhaust if you want something that sounds LOUD. If you like more sublte but still awesome sounding and with great apperence, even better than the other 2-go with Remus. Assuming you do not want to do all the work and change to quads that is-then all of them look equal. Software there are tons of companies who do this-I personally had evotech at one point for a 530 but not sure where you are located and they all do the same things-change the fuel maps and a couple other settings to give you 5-10hp. With all that you can get 10-15 more hp. That is about all ya can do with a NA car unless you take the next step beyond bolt-ons and start changing out the throttle body, putting headers on and completely gutting your exhaust from the headers down. If you did headers with full exhaust gutting and upgrade along with the rest I mentioned you could see 30-40 hp. Aside from supercharging that is the most you will see out of your car. |

Well i have 20's and i already put on an exhaust system on my 545i.
But still looking for new rims cause my 20's slow me down. What kind of spark plugs do you recommend? And I will stop using the octane booster, thanx guys. |
Welcome to the forum!
So what type of exhaust and wheels do you have? Are you trying to find lighter weight 20s or going down to 19s? And yes, definitely post pics of your car. |
in addition to redwhiteblue about the gas, you could mix 100 octane fuel with 91 to average out 94 or 95. i remember that vt had his 545 and put in 1/2 tank 91 and the other 1/2 100 and claimed a little gain, more in the seat of the pants feel. good luck with any mods you go after as well.
