My bad DrLev, much thanks and my apologies Sorry, Frank, for some reason I keep attributing a lot to you... including that sig of kim kardashian guess that's cause I see you all over this forum Speed Force, found an old thread with transmission reset. Here you go... Turn key to second position so electrics are on but engine off... press accelerator to the floor and hold for 25-30 seconds... transmission is reset to original manufacturer settings. Here's the link: http://forums.e60.net/lofiversion/index.php/t59872.html

I would sell it and get a manual one for auto. I put a manual one in mine....it was crazy. I have a 525 tho haha. It was a ridi difference though. I seriously felt like the car was 10 times faster. I cant wait to get one.

OK, just went out to my car and did the reset, then drove it around the block. It seemed to eliminate the jerking at takeoff, however... I still notice a slight lag, but then faster acceleration after the lag. I actually hit redline in DS mode . Never did that before. I guess I need a little more time with it before I can give a fair assessment. Thanks Puck for the reset suggestion , that seems to have eliminating the "jerking" at takeoff. Stay tuned for more detailed updates

I have been having the same issue with my SMG trans and I tried the reset but that didnt help much. My car jerks when I take off from a stop/signal, I have also tried it on the sports mode and I still feel the jerks. Does anyone know if the injector fluid by BMW is of any help.

I don't believe the 25-sec accelerator reset works with the SMG tranny. However, at least on my M5, there was a SMG reset feature, by holding both paddles forward for 2-3 seconds, while in neutral going between 20-70 mph. I would think this also applies to non-M SMG transmissions.
