Why would you think the label is wrong?

My 225/50 17s need well over 40psi when fully loaded and something just less when not.

I've always had mine set at 32 Psi. Even when I leave my car for service, they return it with the same tire pressure

i don't think they're wrong but i think i'm reading it wrong.

41psi front and 45psi rear with just me in the car seems high to me IF i'm reading the chart properly which i'm probably not.

You're not the only one! I cant understand my sticky label either.

It appears to have 2 different sets of pressures for both laden and unladen!

33psi front/38psi rear (up to 4 passengers, ie: not full weight). This info is from the door sticker.

I have been trying to figure that out since I got my 172's, but there are so many conflicting numbers out there. I looked up US model owner's manuals from three different years to see what the recommended pressures were for 19" tires and found three different sets of recommended pressures. I don't know which engine you have but the info that I'm posting below is for the 545 or 550. If you need to look up other models you can find it in the owner's manuals that are posted in the Information section of E60.net. After the manual pdf's open go to the Mobility section and you will find the pressures for 6 cyl E60's as well.

Here's the conflicting info that I have found so far for the V8's with 19" wheels. Note that not only are the three sets of numbers different from each other, they are also different from the numbers you posted (2.8bar is approx 41 PSI and 3.1bar is approx. 45 PSI). Also, the only data that is for a car that came with 172's in the US is the third page below which is for the US LCI 550 M-Sport package. the other pages for previous years are for other 19" wheels. The type of 19" wheel should not make a difference as long as it is the same width.

Another issue is that the LCI data below is for the US 550i M-Sport which has the M-Tech suspension, but my car just has the regular sports suspension. Different suspensions normally can require different tire pressure settings. So even if I ignore the recommended pressures for the LCI there are still two sets of recommended pressures for pre 3/2005 and post 3/2005 545i's, which as far as I know do not have any suspension or other differences from each other.
