You might get a warranty from the dealer or whoever does the install, but when you have any problem wih your engine, BMW WILL tell you that there is no more warranty, since this is not the stock engine anymore.

[/quote]just got off thephone with my rep and he states it will not void the warranty if i have the dealer install it for me, i gave him the link and so far he has not said any different...so I am going to have him state it in writting and go from there. My friend put one on his e46 and bmw still warrantyed his car...huh time will tell
plus i can always remove it to take it in for service it removes very easily..

Anyways, if your dealer states the warranty is not voided... Have him write it down so you can get his a$$ if BMW will say the warranty is voided, what they will if they find out.

I was told that remapping was a "stealth" tune - that is, BMW can't tell it's there.
Iceman, do you know if that's correct or not? If BMW can tell if a tuning box has been used, then surely a remap would be evident.

If your car is chipped or remapped bmw has a small little trick to find out in 3 seconds without opening the hood.
Just push the day counter millage reset stick that is situated on your dashboard behind the wheel. Press it for 4 seconds. If a triangle apears with a ! sign in it that means its remapped.

They can even tell you how often you used the remote to open the doors, how often you used different options, how you drive... They can see EVERYTHING!
Trying to find a problem with the power/battery in my car, my dealer was able to tell me when and how often I used stuff and how I drive...
There is NO stealth tune! Definately!!
