I've done several searches but can't find the answer to my questions (Rudy, please show me the links if I missed them!).

I'm interested in getting a trunk liner. BMW shows two liners in the 5-series Accessories Catalog:

Part Number 82 11 0 305 075 (black; All Weather Cargo Liner; MSRP $70)
Part Number 50 47 0 153 442 (black; Fitted Luggage Compartment Mat; MSRP $85)

Both have the same basic description, but look different and have different price points. What's the difference?

I have also looked at the MacNeil/WeatherTech trunk liner. I've used the WeatherTech floor mats for years, and their quality is outstanding. How does the WeatherTech liner compare to the BMW trunk liners? It's $110, considerably more than the BMW liners after discount.

Lastly, do any of these trunk liners cover the "lashing eyes" (tie-down rings)? I want to pick-up a cargo net, and don't want to eliminate the tie-down points.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have the Weathertech, and I really like the fit and quality. It doe's not obscure the tiedown rings, side or rear. I have't seen the BMW liners. I would also like to get the cargo net, but for now I use two 30" bungies cords in an X pattern, and a 24" across the rear. This setup seems to work well for now. The bungies are not typical cheep looking bungies. They are all black and have thick plastic hooks and come from wallmart of all places. Like 4-5 bucks a pair.

good luck,

How many bodies do you guys usually put back there?

Sorry, don't know much about the trunk liners -- I always bag my bodies first...

If you need assistance with the placement of the bodies, however, you can click here:

Good suggestion, Deano. The WeatherTech is more expensive, but the quality of the product may be worth it.

The all-weather cargo liner is the way to go. I just purchased one, and am very satisfied with it. It fits perfectly in the trunk, rubbery material, has a small 1x2" BMW logo, and has a 1" lip that runs all the way around the mat, just in case you get a spill or are hauling wet stuff.
