So I went to a tint shop today to ask about tinting my tail lamps. They said there's a special tint for tail lamps and that you can't use regular tint that goes on the windows because it will scratch and come off easily. They said the tail lamp tint is thicker and more durable.
Anyway, they quoted me $65 per tail lamp ($130 total). Seems a bit high. Anyone else out there have their tail lamps tinted?

Yeah I know what you're talking about. My tint guy told me the same thing, but I don't think it'll scratch the len. At most it'll just have that sticky gunk stuff, which I have stuff for. The tail light tint is better since it's designed for outside plastic pieces but I don't know of anybody around here that does it. Although he doesn't recommend window tint, he didn't say I mustn't use it. I'm going to redo mine so I'll see how it goes when I peel/rip them off.

Technically, you're not supposed to use tint. Smoked taillights are done by painting. Check out this vendor: http://www.jonstintedtails.com/gallery/ind.../BMW&page=2
He does them on a core exchange basis too I believe. That's bleudyno's car. If I was to do mine, I'd probably only do the red portion and leave the white section alone, like nickgre60

Thanks T! This guy is in NY, so I'll call him and see what he says. I can't go 3 days without my lights, so I'll need to figure something out.
